Services and Options

Build beds using sheet mulching techniques or raised bed boxes of the clients choice to be set in a sunny spot that receives a minimum of 6 hours of sun a day. Beds will be amended and boxes will be filled with a soil and compost mix.

We will make regularly scheduled visits which are agreed upon by the client to instruct and advise in all matters of gardening.

All Things Considered

To make your experience fruitful, you can do a few things on your own before bringing us in for a consultation;

Start by observing your property;
is there a place where you have a least 6 hours of full sun; do you have animals in the yard that can be destructive (deer, rabbits, dogs, cats)
you may have to consider a fence, where will you be sourcing your water, would you consider rainwater collection, where is the best place for your compost pile,
how involved do you want to be and how can The Front Yard Farmer serve you best...

Your garden should be your sanctuary. Vegetable plants and their fruits are very attractive in and of themselves, a garden should be a place of diversity and within that space their should also be flowers and herbs. Aside from adding beauty they bring in the insects and birds which promotes a symbiotic relationship in the garden.

You may consider ornaments that could have a function such as a bird bath or something completely whimsical and random that you find aesthetically appealing.
Or how about a flowering vine to create a screen... The possibilities are endless.

The Front Yard Farmer wants to work directly with you to teach you the skills it takes to maintain a garden, you are encouraged to look over our shoulder and ask questions.

You needn't feel you have to buy all the services offered by The Front Yard Farmer, you choose what fits your needs.

Consultations

If you would like a consultation of an existing garden, The Front Yard Farmer can schedule that for you for a one time fee.
If you are considering purchasing a package or services, the consultation fee will be part of your arrangement.
